The short answer: Replit Core is $20 a month ($18 billed annually) and Pro is $100 ($90 billed annually), each including a dollar credit balance ($20 and $100) that Agent work draws from. Agent does not charge per prompt. It charges per finished request, priced by the effort it took: Replit says a simple change “typically” costs under $0.25, and bigger tasks cost more. The plan price is the floor, not the bill. Set a budget limit before your first long session.
The plans
From Replit’s pricing page, checked 29 September 2026. The page leads with the annual rates (up to 10% off), and the monthly rates below are those recorded in our pricing index on 28 September.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed annually | Included | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | $20 | $18 per month | $20 towards the most powerful models; up to 30 hours of chat on Free Mode; up to 60 projects on Free Mode | Includes AI integrations |
| Pro | $100 | $90 per month | $100 towards the most powerful models; 10 parallel agents; up to 15 collaborators | 28-day database rollback |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom seats, SSO/SAML | Single-tenant options |
Replit’s Pro credits roll over for two months per its billing docs. Extra capacity comes as credit packs from the billing page.
How a request is priced
Under effort-based pricing, Agent bundles a request into a single “checkpoint” when the work is done, and the charge reflects the time and computation spent. Replit’s June 2025 announcement says this replaced a flat $0.25 per checkpoint, that simple changes typically cost less than $0.25, and that larger tasks may cost more. You see the price after the checkpoint lands, not before. Replit also lets you turn on a more capable model and extended thinking per request, which raise effort.
Replit gives no fixed price list. Anyone quoting an exact cost per feature is quoting their own account. That is the honest limit of this page: it can tell you the mechanism and the floors, not a total for your app.
The cost-overrun reports
A cautionary record, dated. On 18 September 2025 The Register reported that after Agent 3 launched on 10 September, users described sharp cost rises: one said $1,000 in a week against a usual $180 to $200 a month, another $70 in one night. It quoted a user saying even a simple server reset charged $0.40 to $0.50, and linked the surge to sub-agents that review, plan and check work on each edit. The article said Replit had been asked for comment and did not include a reply. These are user reports from a year ago, and Replit may have changed the model since; we have not confirmed whether it has. The lesson that still holds is structural: when the price is set after the work, a loop can run up a bill.
Beyond Agent: publishing is billed separately
Replit’s billing docs list three publishing charges: outbound data transfer (Core includes 100 GiB a month), compute units on Autoscale deployments, and request volume. Production databases are billed on compute time and storage; development databases are free. Continuous payment failures can suspend published apps. So a live Replit app has a running cost that exists even when you are not prompting.
Controls that matter
Replit’s docs list usage alerts, budget limits, real-time tracking in the Agent tab, and credit packs. In practice:
- Set a budget limit before a long session, not after the first surprise.
- Keep requests small and specific; effort scales with scope.
- Turn off extended thinking and the high-power model for routine edits.
- Check the usage dashboard after your first day, not your first week.
Is it cheaper than the alternatives?
Not comparable head-on, because the billing units differ. Lovable and Base44 sell credits with fixed monthly allowances, Bolt sells tokens, and Replit sells dollars of effort on top of a plan. See Lovable vs Bolt vs v0, Base44 vs Replit and what happens at zero in the credits table. For an example of what a Replit build reportedly cost against what it earned, read the GenAIPI Replit case study. The tool itself is reviewed in Replit Agent review.
Method
Researched from Replit’s pricing page, blog and docs on 29 September 2026, plus one news report on user experiences (September 2025). We have not run Agent and make no cost measurements. Effort-based rates are unpublished, so no per-feature price is given. Re-checked every 30 days.
Common questions
How much does Replit Agent cost per prompt?
Replit does not publish a per-prompt price. It says simple changes typically cost under $0.25 and larger ones more, charged per completed request.
Is Replit Core enough for a full app?
Core includes $20 of credit towards the most powerful models, and publishing, database and data transfer are billed separately. Whether that covers an app depends on how many requests you make.
Can Replit go over my plan price?
Yes, through credit packs or pay-as-you-go effort billing, unless you set a budget limit.
